DEAR PRUDENCE IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE COMMENCEMENT OF BUSINESS!!! thursday 29th, 10-6. You might just find something interesting......

Folks who may visit Dear Prudence on Thursday 29th October from 10am-6pm, come along and say hi!

Meet the neighbours

Saw a bit of excitement in the street on Sunday, while setting up the shop.  Heard drumming, looked out the window and saw some cute and colourful furry creatures. Tokyo Grill House has opened  directly opposite me (smells delicious!)
My new friend (who's name eludes me) kindly let me take her picture - kansha!

Waiting for the carpet to dry......

While waiting for the shop carpet to dry, I decided to distract myself with a visit to my brothers garage. Wow look what I found-a very old crank-handled cash register, I even found 2 bob in the receipt section, nothing to sneeze at. (apart from the decades old dust encrusting it!)

Birthday Tea Party with Kate

Because we missed Kate's Birthday Party on Saturday night (sick with strepyo tonsilitis, or some horrid sounding thing like that.  Miss Ziggy finally gave in and saw the doctor on Sunday morning, mine did'nt kick in til Monday, and Oscar is almost ok) Kate came over to visit on Thursday evening, with THE most delicious cupcakes EVER. 3 different types all scrummy and a nice cup of tea, and a good old chat made us feel so much better!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A TRULY WONDERFUL GAL, LOVE US XX

Spot the gorgeous BLUEBELL design card in background, I get to look at it everytime I sit at my desk, I'd love to have a real tea set like that one! I do love my spotty kettle which I found at a friends stall at the D.ford Mill Market, and I found a red elephant teapot which is pretty cool, but you can never have too much of a good thing.

Meet Meg Moss

This is Miss Emma's friend Meg, she enjoys moss, french and people who wear clogs. I suspect she likes wearing blue eyeshadow too.

Meet Miss Emma

  • Meet Miss Emma - trusty assistant extraordinaire, who has been working  hard helping me to find treasures for Dear Prudence.
  • Miss Emma likes cats, squirrels, rabbits, dogs, swans and dusting.
  • Miss Emma likes to climb up on bags of stuff to reach things that for me are unreachable.
  •
  • Miss Emma also likes music, pictures and hats, which is lucky, because we have all that in the shop.
  • Boxes have been packed with lots of adorable stuff.
  •
  • Baskets full of fluffy treasures are being transported to Dear Prudence, in readiness for the opening-soon, very soon.

Asylum 7 Vintage Inspirations....

In breaking news, I have had the gorgeous Suzie from Asylum 7 offering up some of her vintage inspired designs, which will be available at Dear Prudence in the very near future. Now thats excitement! Suzie is a Ballaratian who has an amazing talent for designing and creating clothing and costumes and I can't wait to see just what she's come up with! I know you won't be disappointed.

movin' on in!!!!!!!!!

After so many hold-ups, I am amazed to say we will be moving in to the shop tomorrow!(unless something else crops up overnight!) I know! Unbelievable! Incredible! Butterflies! Terrorflies! Everything is packed waiting to be unpacked and hung, set up, displayed, arranged and rearranged (more than once, I can tell you!)and ready for opening TBA really really really soooooonn............... The new address is 434 Sturt Street, next door to Abunda foods, just a few doors down from Yummy Patissiere, not on the "Groovy and Cool" side, but the advantage of that is - you get to stand on this side and admire the "groovies" from a distance, and, on the other hand, if you happen to be on the other side, you may become aroused with curiosity at the goings on, so do come on over and have a look, I can't tempt you with delicious photos at present, but I can say that it will be a feast for the eyes. Excitement!
